The CCMA Award-nominated songwriters’ series will feature 40+ Canadian musical acts over the course of three days.

HAMILTON, ON (Aug. 28, 2023) – The award-winning, and CCMA Award-nominated, event series Blue Jay Sessions has just announced that it will be popping up in Hamilton from Sept. 13-15 in anticipation and celebration of the 2023 CCMA Awards.

Taking place at Capri Restaurant’s upper-level Blue Grotto event space, Blue Jay Sessions: HamOnt Edition is presented in partnership with Craig Senyk Initiatives and will feature over 40 Canadian singer-songwriters in addition to a live band karaoke event and more.

Located in downtown Hamilton, Blue Grotto at Capri is a decades-old space that is designed to resemble an Italian grotto (i.e. cave). It is considered to be one of the most unique spaces in the city and boasts the perfect cozy, captivating atmosphere for a Blue Jay Sessions experience.

“I can’t wait for Hamiltonians to enjoy our sessions next month,” says organizer Dan Clapson. “We aim to showcase some of the very best songwriters Canada has to offer, and this year’s pop-up in celebration of the CCMA Awards is certainly no exception!”

Blue Jay Sessions: HamOnt Edition presented by Craig Senyk Initiatives will kick off on Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 5:30PM. Hosted by Mackenzie Leigh Meyer, the evening’s sessions will feature a wide array of notable acts like Andrew Hyatt, Jason Benoit, Shantaia, Mallory Johnson, Jade Turner and more.

Thursday, Sept. 14 will see a special collaboration with the evening’s host Nicole Rayy and her All Woman Music series. Happening from 4PM to 8PM, attendees can celebrate women in country music with songwriters’ circle performances by artists like Taylor-Rae, Jessie T, Karli June and more.

At 9PM, CCMA Award nominee Don Amero will join notable Alberta acts Mariya Stokes and Amy Hef as well as Manitoba’s Emma Peterson, followed by a late night full-band party and live band karaoke featuring sets by Aaron Pollock, Alessia Cohle and Nicole Rayy.

Friday, Sept. 15 will see two sessions hosted by Callie McCullough followed by a free-to-attend late night party beginning at 10PM.
